please tell me how to order and add and subtract and which operater to put.

You can either rearrange the order and then combine like terms or simply combine like terms as you go.

4a[sup:1q2wcvz0]2[/sup:1q2wcvz0] + a[sup:1q2wcvz0]2[/sup:1q2wcvz0] = 5a[sup:1q2wcvz0]2[/sup:1q2wcvz0]
2a - 5a = -3a
-3 - 5 = -8.

Answer: 5a[sup:1q2wcvz0]2[/sup:1q2wcvz0] - 3a - 8.
