p=a+4b+4c solve for a

I got a= p-4(b+c)

It was wrong can you help me figure out what the answer is and please explain so I can learn the right way to solve the problem. Thank you for your help.

Try different form - like:

a = p - 4b - 4c

You seem to have it right. Subtract from both sides until you have "isolated" a.
