This is my Algebra problem : 12xsquare y square - 24xy cube - 16x square y

The answer is 4xy parentheses 3xy - 6x square parentheses - 4x

Can you show me the steps to the answer?

When referring to a power, that is what the ^ (SHIFT 6) key is for.

Wouldn't that be easier than typing out 'square'?. Like so:

12x^2y^2-24xy^3-16yx^2

Or, better yet, try LaTex'

\(\displaystyle 12x^{2}y^{2}-24xy^{3}-16x^{2}y\)

Just factor out \(\displaystyle 4xy\) and you have it.
 
In case you're not familiar: 12x^2y^2 means 12 times x^2 times y^2
