Multiply both numerator and denominator of the major fraction by the multiplicative inverse of the denominator. It may help to express the denominator of the denominator in factored form before doing so.
Would it be correct to assume that the instructions did not in fact say to "solve", but to simplify...? Would it be correct to assume that you actually meant the expression to be as follows...?
