i don't exactly know where to start with this. i've always had trouble with word problems.

here it is maybe someone can guide me:

determine if this person's electrolytes will be int he normal range of 400-500mEQ/L after being given one 1L of water. The person is a 50kg woman and started at 550mEQ/l before fluid was given.

1L of body fluid = 1L and 55% of a woman's weight is fluid.

So, there it is... this was as sort of a teaser.

please help.

Are you adding electrolytes or just fluid?

Related Examples - Adding Water and Salt to a System

2 ml salt in 1 l water

add 1 l water

this gives 2 ml salt in 2 l water

We halved the concentration by doubling the volume.

Try another one...

2 ml salt in 1 l water

add 1 ml salt in 1 l water

this gives 3 ml salt in 2 l water

We reduced the concentration by adding a lower concentration.
