I was trying to figure out to determine the amplitude and period of each function without graphing on my calculator.

Here are the problems:

1. y=2 sin x
2. y=3 cos x
3. y=-4 cos 2x
4. y=-sin 1/2 x

Please help me please. I just want to know the period and amplitude for my quiz on Friday.
I also have a TI-89 Titanium calculator so I'm am ready to solve these problems when any of you reply.

For

\(\displaystyle y \, = \, A \cdot \sin (\omega x + \phi)\)

or

\(\displaystyle y \, = \, A \cdot \cos (\omega x + \phi)\)

then

A = Amplitude

and

\(\displaystyle period \,= \, \frac{2\cdot \pi}{\omega}\)
