Ok....let's see what your "thinking" is about this problem.

First thing I'd like to know is whether you are familiar with the slope-intercept form for the equation of a line, which in general terms is

y = mx + b

What does "m" represent? What does "b" represent?

Please answer these questions, and then we can proceed.

m is the slope; or in this case, -8x (?)
b represents the constant; or in this case. -4 (?)

If the exercise asked you to find the slope based on the graph and if "m" stands for "slope", then the value is correct.
