here are the problems:

(x-2)/5 - (x-3)/6 = 5/6
when i put those in and try to solve it, i get ERR: NO SIGN CHNG
what does that mean????

((1.53x-2.11)/5.66) - ((3.14x+2.75)/1.01) = -83.75/10.03
when i put that in to graph, i see 2 lines graphed, but when i zoom in, i only see one. i get x=1.85

1) (x - 2)/5 - (x - 3)/6 = 5/6

What do you mean by "put these in"? Are you trying to use your calculator to solve this? Why not just multiply through by the common denominator of 30, and then solve the resulting linear equation?

. . . . .(x - 2)/5 - (x - 3)/6 = 5/6

. . . . .6(x - 2) - 5(x - 3) = 25

. . . . .6x - 12 - 5x + 15 = 25

. . . . .x + 3 = 25

...and so forth.

2) (1.53x - 2.11) / 5.66 - (3.14x + 2.75) / 1.01 = -83.75 / 10.03

Why are you trying to have the calculator give you the answers? Haven't you been taught how to do this on your own? Just multiply through by the denominators to get a linear equation (a messy one, granted), and solve by the usual methods. The calculator isn't necessary.

i am using the calculator to solve b/c i am doing an assignment that requires us to use the calculator. we also have to graph it.

All I can tell you is your 1.85 is approximate, but correct...
Don't you have a manual with that calculator of yours?

Anyway, what you're asking is unclear...

i am very sorry....the denominator for the first fraction is "2" not "5"

maybe that is why i got a diff answer than you all
