Grade to pitch help: converting 4% grade to ?? pitch

I am in desperate need of some help. Can someone tell me how to change grade (4%) to pitch? And how do I do it?

Pitch and slope are given in ratios for the most part.

For instance, a 2:1 slope. 2 foot run and 1 foot rise. This means for every

2 units of horizontal distance you have 1 unit of vertical. For example, the

slopes along the highway and roofs are done this way.

A 2:1 slope would be a 50% grade. 1/2=0.50

A 3:1 would be 1/3=0.333% grade.

With roofs it's called pitch, but it's still rise over run.

The 4% slope you have is how roads are graded or pipe is laid, for example.

4 feet rise in 100 feet. 4/100=0.04=4%

Therefore, pitch for 4% would be 100:4. 50:1 would be the same thing.

Have you ever seen signs along the highway that say 6% grade?.

That means for every 100 feet the road rises 6 feet.

If I may venture to say, it is not always productive to stop reading when you see you've been given a general explanation rather than an immediate solution. This is especially true in this case: If you'd kept reading, you'd have found that you have already been given the answer:

Therefore, pitch for 4% [grade] would be 100:4.

Please keep in mind that most tutors are wanting to help you, and are hoping for your long-term success. (This is why the tutor explained, very clearly, exactly how to convert grade to pitch.) Legitimate tutors aren't likely to go for the short-term quickie solution of just handing out answers.
