The volume of a square pyramid is V = 1/3Bh

b = the length of the side of the base
h = the height of the pyramid

Amy’s model is:
b = 8 inches
h = 5 inches
⅓(8)(8)5 = 106.67 cubic inches

And Alex’s model is:
b = 8 inches
h = 3 inches
⅓(8)(8)3 = 64 cubic inches
Difference in volume is
106.67 - 64 = 42.67 cubic inches

Just want to make sure formula applied is correct for #1897040CDE-EF7C-40AA-AC79-4D89626AF890.png97040CDE-EF7C-40AA-AC79-4D89626AF890.png

Yes your answer is correct.

Just one thing: you define b, but you don't define B in your volume formula - they are different.

As you said, b is the length of the side of the base. B is the AREA of the base.

So replace that and say B = area of the base?
