I need help big time with my geometry help and I need it tonight. This is the first problem.
1. an overhead view of a revoving door is shown in the accompanying diagram. Each panel is 1.5m. the question is what is the approximate width of D, The opening from B to C? on the diagram its a circle with a X through it and each section has 1.5 m

what kind of triangle is formed by one section of the X and a line segment drawn from B to C?

what do you know about the side length relationships for this "special" triangle?

It is an X inside the circle and it has that there is four sides inside the circle and each are 1.5

Re: Geometry Help Please NOw

Hello, ambygurl182!

We still have to guess what the diagram looks like . . .

Skeeter asked the right questions . . . Have you found any answers?

Each panel is 1.5m.
The question is: what is the approximate width of the opening from B to C?

Code:
              * * *
          *           *
      A o - - - - - - - o D
       *  *           *  *
            *       *
      *       * O *       *
      *         *         *
      *   1.5 *   * 1.5   *
            *       *
       *  *           *  *
      B o - - - - - - - o C
        | *           * |
        |     * * *     |

\(\displaystyle \Delta OBC\text{ is a 45-45 right triangle with legs: }OB \,=\,OC \,=\,1.5\)

\(\displaystyle \text{Can you find the length of the hypotenuse, }BC?\)
