I need help asap. Here are a few problems and I need step by step help on how to solve each problem. Thanks!

1. A rectangle and a square have the same area. If the rectangle measures 9 cm by 4 cm, find the length of each side of the square.

2. A rectangular running track is 284 meters long. It is twice as long as it is wide. If Pam ran around it three times, what was the total distance that she covered?

3. A table has a perimeter of 28 ft. The length of the table is 4 ft greater than the width. What are the length and width of the table?

4. A farmer plowed for a total of 7hrs. She stopped for 20 min. to feed the cattle and 40min to eat lunch. If she finished plowing at 3:45, at what time did she start?

Please share your work with us, indicating exactly where you are stuck - so that we may know where to begin to help you

1. A rectangle and a square have the same area. If the rectangle measures 9 cm by 4 cm, find the length of each side of the square.

we will start with this "A rectangle and a square have the same area" so lets write out expressions for the area of a rectangle and square

a=l*w

where a=area, l= length and w= width

so let ar represent the area of a rectangle and let as represent the area of a square

ar=l*w=as

ok now for the second part of this question "If the rectangle measures 9 cm by 4 cm"

so we have ar= 9*4=36

but that is equal to the area of the square, the length and width of a square are equal, can you finish the problem?

2. A rectangular running track is 284 meters long. It is twice as long as it is wide. If Pam ran around it three times, what was the total distance that she covered?

ok so this one is about perimeter since Pam is running around the track.

the perimeter of a rectangle is given by l+l+w+w or 2l+2w

can you finish from there?

3. A table has a perimeter of 28 ft. The length of the table is 4 ft greater than the width. What are the length and width of the table?

this is pretty similar to 2

4. A farmer plowed for a total of 7hrs. She stopped for 20 min. to feed the cattle and 40min to eat lunch. If she finished plowing at 3:45, at what time did she start?
