Gelfand Widths, Lipschitz mappings, embeddings

I am trying to understand compressed sensing. It requires deep understanding of stuffs like Lipschitz mappings, Gelfand widths, embeddings, J-L lemma etc. But I dont know which branch of mathematics deals with these topics. Any help is utmost welcome.
