g(x) help

Using the formula give g(x)=x-6/x+5
Substitute the input given to find output.
a) g(7)
g (7)= 7-6/7+5
g(1/12)

The answer is 1/12 my teacher said to clean this up and rewrite so it reads correctly.Write 1/12 as a new function? Im not sure I understand.

Don't write "g(1/12)". It's g(7)= 1/12.
