Find the domain of the function F(x) = 3/x-3
pick one of the 4.

A. Domain = (-infinite, 3) or ( 3, infinite)
B. Domain = (-infinite, -3] or [3, infinite)
C. domain = (-infinite, -3) or ( 3, infinite)
D. Domain = (-infinite, 3] or [ 3, infinite)

I've eliminated down to A and C. What is the Difference or meaning between "(" and "[" for the answers. is there a specific way to solve these or do you just have to look at the function to see what cancels out to zero?

My other question is similar to the 1st.

Find the domain of the function F(x) = 2x/x2- 9 the x2 the 2 is an exponent

A. domain = { xIx not = 3, x not = 2}
B. Domain = { xIx not = -3, xnot = 2}
C. Domain = {xIx not = -3}
D domain = [xIX not = -3, x not = 3}

what does x/x mean?

How do I use symbols on this site?

[ indicates the value IS included
( indicates the value is NOT included

[3,5] -- Starts with 3 and stops with 5
(3,5) -- Includes everything greater than 3 and less than five, without including 3 or 5

Why is -3 significant? Eliminate C., as well.
