I'm a little mixed up on this problem, I thought it's as simple as just multiplying together but it's not...I would really appreciate some explanation as to how you got to the answer...

If f(a) = 2a-1 and g(a) = a^2 then g(f(a)) = ??

Thanks so much for the help!

This is a composite function. Insert f(a) into g(a).

\(\displaystyle g(a)=a^{2}\) and \(\displaystyle f(a)=2a-1\)

So, putting 2a-1 in place of 'a' in g(a) we get: \(\displaystyle (2a-1)^{2}\)

See?.

Ooooh gotchya, thanks so much...
If you see this I'd appreciate some help on this problem also:
If t = e ^x+2 then x = ??

thank you!
