I've attached images of the problems I'm having trouble with. For the first one, number eight, I have the distinct impression I'm over thinking it. After trying to come up with a function equation that satisfies the given I started reading the boxes at the bottom. Is this just asking me to physically show that I can graph this out?

The second one, number 10, I'm not really sure what it wants. I guess I'm having issues with the vocab more than anything.

Number eight

I know that the equation of the function given is likely P(x)=-(x-2500)^2+53500, but is the question asking for me to simply show where it might be on the graph or give it exactly?

They've already done the graphing. They're asking you to pick the terms (out of the options in each box) which would allow you to explain to another student the process of "finding the appropriate x-values" that correspond to... what? They're wanting you to pick the appropriate "what" options. For instance, given that y = P(x) = 30,000, are you looking for a y-axis value or for an x-axis value? And so forth.

The second one, number 10, I'm not really sure what it wants. I guess I'm having issues with the vocab more than anything.

You are given a point, (x, y). You are told that this point lies on the graph of y = C(x) = (something in terms of x; we don't know what the formula is). You are asked to restate this (x, y) point in terms of the x-value inputs and the C(x)-value outputs. How would you state this in terms of x and y? How then might you state this in terms of x and C(x)?

It's all the same thing. You're just being asked to use a different name for "y". ;)

Answer to 8. Find 30,000 on the [Y axis] Move [Across] the graph and then [Down] finding appropriate x-values. ?

Answer to 10. C(1000)=4500?
