Hey. Sorry this probably isnt the right category for me to put this question in, but I didn't know what else to put it in. Sorry. But um I have two questions that I have no idea how to do, because we did not learn this kind of question in class, and its for an assignment. If you could help me, that would be great. Thanx in advance. The questions is:

Give that f(x) = 2x² and g(x) = 3x+4 then find:

a) f(4) - g(1)

b) f(x+1)+g(x+1)

Also, if P(x)=3x²-5x+2 evaluate

d. P(3x²)

and c. P(y+2)

THANKS alot. :D

a) f(4) - g(1)

f(4) = 2(4)2
g(1) = 3(1)+4
evaluate each and subtract

b) f(x+1)+g(x+1)
f(x+1) = 2(x+1)2
g(x+1) = 3(x+1) + 4
expand both, combine like terms.

Thanks alot :D

THANKYOU SO MUCH :D

Can somebody help me with the other part? I added that in right after  thanks

d. P(3x²) = 3(3x2)2 - 5(3x2) + 2

and c. P(y+2) = 3(y+2)2 - 5(y+2) + 2

expand and combine like terms ... you getting the idea?

THANKS alot. :D
