The perimeter of the isosceles triangle shown in the diagram on the right could be written (7x+m)/(x(x+2)). The value of m must be ..... units

What must the side not labeled be, since we are told this is an isosceles triangle?
 
Yes, the perimeter \(P\) is then:

[MATH]P=\frac{1}{x+2}+2\cdot\frac{3}{x}=\frac{x+6(x+2)}{x(x+2)}=\frac{7x+12}{x(x+2)}[/MATH]
And so I agree that \(m=12\). :)
