I have two related questions.

Let f(x)=2x-s, g(x)=cbrt(x+1), and h(x)=x^2+2x. Find each of the following.
#5. (f/g)(x)
I'm stuck on simplifying this... MY WORK:
2x-1
cbrt(x+1)

#4. (f+h)(x)
IS THIS CORRECT? MY WORK:
(2x-1)+(x^2+2x)= x^2+4x-1

Does anyone know of any websites related to function calculators or to find the proper answer?

Thank you for anything!

They both look good, but I don't see any simplification either. Perhaps they just want you to practice translating "functionese" to algebra.
Couldn't find any usefull sites.

Do you mean: sites that do symbolic algebra (computations with variables instead of numbers)? Sorry, but no. There are programs, such as Mathematica or Derive, that will do this, but there is some cost involved, I believe, to purchase a license to use the software.

Regarding simplification, I agree with Gene: they're just wanting you to practice the meaning of "operations on functions". Many (most?) of these exercises won't simplify much, if at all.
