Hi
C is a circle of radius of 1 unit and A(n) is the area of a regular N-gon
A(3)is aera equilateral triangle, A(4) is area of a square, and A(5) is area
regaular polygon all inscribed in circle C.

I'm asked if A(n) is a function. I say it is

What is natural domain of A(n). I think that the areas are.

How would I find A(4). would it be y=(LW)1unit

Thanks for the help.

Hello, smsuski!

C is a circle of radius of 1 unit and A(n) is the area of a regular n-gon
A(3)is the area of an equilateral triangle, A(4) is the area of a square,
and A(5) is area of a regular pentagon all inscribed in circle C.

(a) Is A(n) a function?

(b) What is natural domain of A(n)?

(c) How would I find A(4)?
(a) Yes.
. . . For each n, there is a <u>unique</u> area associated with that polygon.

(b) The domain is the set of all permissible values of n.
. . . The set of all natural numbers <u>></u> 3: . 3, 4, 5, 6, . . .

(c) Note that the diagonal of the square is 2 (the diameter of the circle).
. . . You can use Pythagorus to find the side of the square, and then its area.
