How do you solve the problem 23/? = 13 8/15 I'm thinking it's x= 23x15 over 203 but i'm not sure it's been so long since I've done this. I managed to solve all my other problems but I'm stuck on this one.

You are correct. Good job. Why are you unsure?

23/x = 203/15

Multiply both sides by x:

23 = (203/15)x

Multiply both sides by 15:

23(15) = 203x

Divide both sides by 203:

[23(15)]/203 = x

PS You can always check your answer by plugging it back into the original equation and seeing if it works.

I haven't done this in awhile and I'm taking a course in college to try and get a new job. I'm just rusty and wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I got an answer of 1.699 if I did it right but how would i put that in the equation? I appreciate the help

Just divide 23 by your answer and see if it equals 13 + 8/15. (It does.)

With what accuracy are you supposed to state your answer? 1.6995 can be rounded up to 1.7.
