For 12.a) I have tried solving the question, but according to the book, the answer is supposed to be 2.007s? By the way, what I have got is 20.07s

You did not keep your units consistent.

g = 9.81 m/s²

Thus the units for L must be meters and you should have L = 1

Now you will get correct answer.
