Fraction Work Problem

I should know how to do this BUT my brain is slightly dead right now. Here goes:

A school athletic team practices 9 5/6 hours a week.
They practice 5 2/7 weeks for the championship.
How many hours did they practice in total.

I KNOW:
1) this is a fraction problem
2) it invovles multiplying fractions
3) I am pretty sure it also involves converting units of measure.

NEED HELP on steps to use in order to solve.

Thank you!

The problem illustrates how useless mixed fractions are. They can be helpful for a quick check of relative magnitudes, but they serve little additional purpose.

Make each an equivalent "improper" fraction, and perhaps multiplication will seem easier.

Here's what I got so far:

9 5/6 = 59/6

5 2/7 = 37/7

59/6 x 37/7 = 2183/42

2183/42 = 51.9762 hours

51.9762 hours = 51 hours 58.6 seconds

RIGHT? WRONG?

If you had quit one line sooner, it would have been perfect. Read what the question wants.

Thanks for the help. I tend to overthink and don't know when to stop.
