I have a formula that I can not get to come out with the predetermined value.

pf=2e-500.887/v

pf = 1.15
2 = 2
e = a dimensionless constant equal to approximatley 2.718
v = 1000

How does this calculation work. It is used for a pressure decay test by the california air resources board. In the formula on paper the -500.887/v looks like an exponential multiplication

help me please ??
Thanks
Todd

\(\displaystyle P_{f}=2e^{\frac{-500.887}{v}}\)

Look here. http://www.arb.ca.gov/testmeth/vol2/tp201_3.pdf

It might be helpful.

Substitute 1000 for v, you have \(\displaystyle P_{f}=2e^{\frac{-500.887}{1000}}\)

But I get \(\displaystyle P_f=1.21\)

I had a 'finger check' problem. I fixed it.
Fixed your finger? :roll:
