I am doing an investigation in order to determine an equation for: "The required velocity for water to leave a water bottle in order to reach a target" . In this investigation I will maintain a bottle at around 50 degrees from the horizontal, and place a target at about 10cm away then increase the distance gradually. I'm currently doing IB maths and for my investigation to be graded highly, it needs to include maths which isn't included in the syllabus. I'm yet to experiment it and so I was wondering what I have to measure and note down in order to come up with the velocity as I am just beginning to learn fluid mechanics. Also how would I go about determining an equation from the results, could you give me some directions?

Thank you in advance
