What I did was cut it in half, I tried solving it by:

Hypotenuse = 6
longer leg (x) = 3 √3
shorter leg = 3
idk if i can simplify the longer leg, 3 √3 or if it's even correct

What hypotenuse are you saying is 6? What justification do you have for any of your claims? Are these just guesses?

I would start by looking for some similar triangles.

In a right triangle, the length of the altitude to the hypotenuse is a mean proportional between the parts.
\(\displaystyle \therefore \dfrac{3}{x}=\dfrac{x}{7}\)
