Attached is a problem I couldn't know how to solve, despite trying for a LONG TIME...

"despite trying for a LONG TIME..."??? If you know the standard method for finding the inverse of a function, then you should be able to get this. Has your teacher taught that, yet?

Yes but a long time ago and, as all humans, I forget...

Now, if you could just remind me of the method instead of pontificating about what I should or should not be able to do, I would pretty much appreciate it.
