I hae a problem that I cannot find in my book. Can you help me breakd it down and show me how it works?

Find the maximum and minimum of P = 10x - 16y subject to: 0 _< X _< 5, 0 _< y _< 8, 4x + 5y _< 30, and 4x + 3y _< 20.

Disclaimer: _< is supposed to mean less or equal to. Sorry. I could not figure out how to do it correctly on my keyboard. :D

To learn how linear programming works, please study an online lesson or two.

Long story short: Find the coordinates of the "corners" of the region marked off by the linear inequalities, plug them into the optimization equation, and pick the point which gives you the best value.
