Hello,
I'm struggling with this problem and I'm not sure where I'm going wrong.
A steam line will increase in length by 1.040% when heated. Determine the original length of the line, if it increased in length by 5.400 cm when heated.
I thought it would be as below but I'm not getting the right answer.
Percentage increase= (difference of old and new/old)x100
Transposed it would be old= 101.04/540?
Anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?
Thanks
