Hello! I have a line with a function: y = 1/2 * x. I want to find a point upon this line which is going to have distance = 400 from the point (0,0). How can I find this point?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I would start with a drawing. Graph the line. Think about how many solutions your problem has. Mark point(s) on the line. Draw additional lines that may help you. Post the drawing.

Where does the line \(y=\frac{1}{2} x\) intersect the circle \(x^2+y^2=(400)^2~?\)

As pka hinted, draw all the points which are 400 units from (0,0). Find the point, points, if any that cross the line.

The set of points which are all 400 units from (0,0) is called what?
