Please help me with this. I am clueless.

A basketball player hits three-point shots 42% of the time. If she takes 4 shots during a game, what is the probability
that she misses the first shot and hits the last three shots?

Hello, smith5831!

A basketball player hits three-point shots 42% of the time.
If she takes 4 shots during a game, what is the probability that:
she misses the first shot and hits the last three shots?

I assume that the probability of a hit is independent.
[But if you're truly CLUELESS, you don't know what that means.]

\(\displaystyle \text{Then: }\;P(\text{miss-hit-hit-hit}) \;=\;(0.58)(0.42)(0.42)(0.42) \;\approx\;0.043\)
