First this is not a geometric sum. It is an infinite product with a simple pole. As you can see you have the correct answer .I think i just solved it . That is a geometric sum with the first term b1=a+1 and the ratio q=a^2 . Using the formula for the geometric sum we get a simple limit which is equal to 1/(1-a) .
