I have a math problem I need to figure out – hope you can help.

- I start with 1,855,412

- I have 52 periods

- The number goes is multiplied by 100.0711% is period

- The numbers build on them self (kind of like compounded interest)

o Example:

§ Period 1 = 1,855,412

§ Period 2 = Period 1*100.0711% which is 1,856,731

§ Period 3 = Period 2*100.0711% which is 1,858,051

§ Etc…. they keep building on each other

- What I am trying to do is find the formula to calculate what period 46 would be with just know the starting number: 1,855,412 the period: 46 and the increase rate 100.0711%

o The final answer should be: 1,915,714

o I have tried a number of different things and cannot get any of them to work.

Any ideas?

Thanks, and I hope you have a great day.

Re: Math help?

What you're showing makes no sense whatsoever;
1,855,412 * 100.0711 = 185,673,119.8 : NOT 1,856,731

And it probably is meant to be compounded interest:
perhaps 7.11% compounded weekly or .0711/52

IF the rate is 7.11% compounded annually and you're talking years,
then 1,855,412(1.0711)^46 = ~43,714,070 after 46 years!!

Post the ORIGINAL problem IN FULL.

Hello, thanks for the response

My cal. is correct - do not forget to use the % button after you enter the 100.0711. The 52 is the number of weeks.

Thanks,
Aaron

Huh? And everybody is suppose to have a calculator like yours?

1,855,412(1.000711)^45 = 1,915,714 : 45, NOT 46
