Find the equation for the following line:
Perpendicular to x + 2y = 10 and passing through the point (1, 1).
Here is what I have:
. . .x + 2y = 10
. . .2y = -x + 10
. . .y = -1/2x + 5
Perpendicular slope = 2
. . .y – 1 = 2(x - 1)
. . .y – 1 = 2x – 2
. . .y = 2x - 1
Is that correct though?
