find slope given tang line eqn

Hi guys,
Can someone give me a little help with this please.

The tangent line equation to the curve 3x2+ y2 = 1 at the point
(0, 1) has a slope whose value is:

For some reason the verbage is confusing me... Too tackle this would I use the secant line method and approximate the slope? Sorry but i seem to be having a brain cramp here
