Find the points where the tangent to the curve is horizontal

First I want to ask if you multiple the '2' into the first bracket so then yo can use the product rule or can you not do that? And then how would you fine the points?

You could. But since it's just a constant, I'd just carry it along.

And then how would you fine the points?

By the usual method: differentiate, set equal to the desired slope value, and solve.
