Find the point on the graph of y=x^2 where the tangent line is parallel to the line x+2y=4

If the line is parallel to \(\displaystyle y=\frac{-1}{2}x+2\), then it has the same slope. See it?.

Find the derivative of x^2, set it equal to the slope you found and solve for x. There ya' go.
