Heres a couple bonus questions that are boggling my mind... can ya help?

1. The Drews bought a house calued at $235,000. Two years later, construction of a soccer field went through the lot next door reducing the value of their house to $89,000. Find the percentage decrease.

2. Putnam Hunter received an invoice amounting to $2,183 with cash terms of 5/20 net 30. If a partial payment of $1,500 was made within the discount period, find the credit given and the balance of the invoice.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Does the above mean that you are needing lessons on the necessary background material, so that you can understand what the questions are asking you...?

This should have been covered back in pre-algebra or algebra courses. To learn how to set up and solve this sort of exercise, please study a lesson on "percentage" word problems.

This should have been covered, or at least mentioned, in your textbook and in the classroom lectures. There's a lot of material implicit in this exercise, so you've got a fair amount of studying to do!

. . . . .Google results for "invoice cash terms"
. . . . .Google results for "invoice partial payment find credit"
. . . . .Google results for "invoice partial payment find balance"
. . . . .Google results for "business math"

Once you have learned the necessary background material, please attempt the exercises. If you get stuck, you will then be able to reply with a clear listing of your work and reasoning so far, so that we can "see" where you are having difficulty.

Thank you! :D
