Given x = 5 and extraneous solutions x = -1 and x = -2, I am to find a way using technology, preferably graphing, to find an equation involving radicals and/or logarithms

What is your specific question about this assignment?

Have you thought about this exercise or done anything thus far?

Do you understand the meaning of "extraneous solution"?

Please follow our guidelines in the post titled "Read Before Posting".

Thank you! :D

Let me give you one such equation and you generate the others

P(x)=A(x-5)[(x+1)**3/2 ][(x+2)**7/2 ] / [ [(x+1)**1/2] [LOG(base: x+1) of [(x+1)**(x+2)5/2] ]

Set to zero

P(x)=0
