You could start with the "slope-intercept form" of the equation of a line: y = mx + b "m" is the slope, and "b" is the y-intercept of the line. You know that the slope is -2/3, so you could begin by substituting that for "m": y = (-2/3)x + b Now, you know that the point (-2, 4) is on the line. So, you can substitute -2 for x, and 4 for y: 4 = (-2/3)(-2) + b 4 = (4/3) + b 4 - (4/3) = b (12/3) - (4/3) = b 8/3 = b So...the equation of the line (in slope-intercept form) is y = (-2/3)x + (8/3)
