Hi, I am working on my Algebra this wwekend so I am "up to date" with the stuff we're doing in class. (I am awful at math, so I have to study extra). I have been doing a bunch of practice problems, and I have been doing pretty decent-ly so far. However, I have ran into a few problems where I don't even know how to do, I don't remember. I was hoping someone could help me out? tHanks a bunch!

40. Find an equation of the line. Write the equation using function notation.
Through (9, 64) and (7, 52)

41. Find an equation of the line. Write the equation in standard form.
Slope - 7/9; through (4, 3)

44. Use the slope-intercept form of the linear equation to write the equation of the line with the given slope and y-intercept.
Slope 5/3; y-intercept (0, 0)
--------
also I was confused on this determinate question?

61.
Find the value of x that makes the statement true

|-3-6| =-12
|-6 x|

I'm sorry there are so many questions here, I am just soooo confused on these.

Equation of a line through points (x[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1], y[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1]) and (x[sub:28rw31d1]2[/sub:28rw31d1], y[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1]) is:

(y -y[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1])/((y[sub:28rw31d1]2[/sub:28rw31d1] - y[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1]) = (x -x[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1])/((x[sub:28rw31d1]2[/sub:28rw31d1] - x[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1])

Equation of a line through point (x[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1], y[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1]) and slope = m is:

(y -y[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1]) = m * (x -x[sub:28rw31d1]1[/sub:28rw31d1])

44. Use the slope-intercept form of the linear equation to write the equation of the line with the given slope and y-intercept.
Slope 5/3; y-intercept (0, 0)

What is the slope-intercept form of the linear equation?

In that equation:

Where would you use slope?

Where would you use intercept?
--------

Do you know how to calculate determinant of a [2 X 2] matrix?

No i do not know how to calculate a 2x2 determitant. Could you tell me how?

-thanks for the other help btw.

\(\displaystyle M \; = \; \left[ \begin{array}{cc} A & B & C & D \end{array} \right]\)

\(\displaystyle det(M) \; = \; A \cdot D \; - \; B \cdot C\)
