Please post the original problem.

Why do you need to factorize this expression (8ab+40cb+3a+18c)?

Could it be that the last term is '15c' instead of '18c'?

The question was Factorise Fully. The equation is as written. I've been told that it can be split into two groups, factorise and then put the groups together for the answer. Which I know that is how you factorise by grouping but I cant seem to get this one as I cant find a common factor between the two groups. All I can manage to do is simply the equation but that is not what the question asks for. Any ideas? Thanks

The expression that you have given cannot be factorised. It appears there is a misprint in the question. Are you sure it is correct?

That's what I thought but my teacher said it's possible. I'll double double check with him. Thanks

I can come up with expressions but they only lead to 'are you sure about the question', i.e.
8ab+40cb+3a+18c = [8b + 3] [a + 5c] + 3c
8ab+40cb+3a+18c = [6c + a] [8b + 3] - 4bc

Possibly there are more, but I don't see a 'two term factorization'.
