im trying to answer the factor of 2x2 +7x+3=0 can some one get me started?

Subhotosh's hint is for rewriting that middle term (7x) as the sum 6x + x

When we say "factor" we mean "factor with integer coefficients so you task is to find integer values a, b, c, and d so that (ax+ b)(cx+ d)= 2x^2+ 7x+ 3. On the left we get (ax+ b)cx+ (ax+ b)d= acx^2+ bcx+ adx+ bd= acx^2+ (bc+ ad)x+ bd. Now what integers multiply to give ac= 2? What integers multiply to give bd= 3?
