I have to factor the equation x^2-5x+6 its been a while since if done this kind of math. I dont want help getting the answer I just want help on knowing what the next step would be to factoring out this problem. I know the answer will look like (x - or + a)(x - or + b). Thanks in advanced for anyone that helps me.

\(\displaystyle x^2 - 5x + 6\)

what two numbers have a product of +6, and a sum of -5?

those two numbers will be your "a" and "b".

You can use...the Quadratic Formula....
Note: The Quadratic Formula applies to solving equations, not to factoring expressions.
