Factoring into linear or irreducible quadratic factors

x^3+6x^2+12x+8=(__)(____)=(__)^3

Okay I understand the a and b parts. but with this one i don't know what to do. my friend said that the final answer is x+2^3.

\(\displaystyle (a + b)^3 \ = \ a^3 \ + \ b^3 \ + \ 3a^2b \ + \ 3ab^2\)

These formula should be crammed - tattooed on your forehead - never to be forgotten.
