the question is Find f(2) if f(x) = log4x

I wrote f(x) =logx/log4 . Can I plug 2 in as x? thus getting f (x) = log2/log4 . Making the answer 1/2?

If not, a hint would be appreciated. Thank you.

Looks good to me, but were you able to use your calculator on this problem? This looks like one of those log problems where they don't want you to use a calculator. If so then you would have to recognize that:

\(\displaystyle \displaystyle \log_{4}2=x\) can be rewritten as \(\displaystyle \displaystyle 4^x=2\), thus x = 1/2
