I have a f(x) = -x + 2 if -3 < or = -1, -2 if x=-1, x^2 if x>-1. All theses are included in the same function. I believe the interval notation is [-3, infinity).

The point (8, 65) - Is it on the graph of f(x)?

My guess is yes because it falls into the interval notation of the function. Is this right?

If you plug "8" in for "x", what value to you get?

Eliz.

If I plug in 8

If I plug in 8 - that falls into the x^2 catagory

So then x^2 = 64

So that means no! (8, 64) would fall on the graph.
