Hey,i'm just understanding the foil method(first outer than inner)can somebody give me a problem?when two parenthesis are next to each other w/ no sighn in the middle. :?

I say “Down with FOIL”!!
FOIL is for those who do not understand how to multiply!
If one knows that (x+a)(x+b)=x2+ax+bx+ab then one has no need of FOIL!

FOIL is helpful to remember the procedure when you are first starting out, but eventually you will see the pattern and not think about it.

I think that that is backwards!
Spend two days on multiplying many many binomials.
Then the pattern becomes obvious!
If one gives a student a method first, then the student rarely discovers it.

They are all easy, try this:

\(\displaystyle \left( {6\sqrt 5 x - 4} \right)\left( {5\sqrt {4i} x + 2} \right)\)

Its not hard if you really understand FOIL and imaginary numbers, both important elementry algebra concepts.
