extracting the root: (x - 3)^2 = 17/4

I think I understand how to do the following problem, but would appreciate some feedback.

. . .(x - 3)^2 = 17/4

First, I would take the square root of each side:

. . .(x - 3) = +/- squareroot(17) divided by squareroot(4)

Am I on the righ track? Then simplifying, it is:

. . .x - 3 = +/- squareroot(17) divided by 2

I think that is the answer but any input would be great. Thank you!

Everything you've done so far is fine. But since you're not down to "x=", you're not done. However, there is only one step remaining.
